- (EEIS Offer) Rebate values are subject to change and are not guaranteed until eligibility is confirmed. MAC TS reserves the right to:
- Correct errors or omissions;
- Cancel or adjust rebate claims that do not meet eligibility requirements; and
- Recover rebates where false, misleading, or incomplete information has been provided.
MAC TS is not responsible for delays or issues caused by incorrect information supplied by customers or third parties.
- (EEIS Offer Validity) Offer is valid until the 30th of November, 2026.
- (EEIS Offer Availability) The submission of this application does not guarantee payment or approval. All applications are subject to review and assessment by MAC. We reserve the right to accept or decline applications at our discretion.
- (EEIS Eligibility) Offer applies to a fridges or freezers, TVs and/or dryers. To be eligible:
- The appliance must be purchased for use at a residential or business premises located in the ACT;
- The appliance must be new (not second hand, refurbished, ex display, or a demo model);
- The appliance must be approved by MAC TS and meet scheme requirements; and
- The appliance must be purchased from an authorised seller participating in the scheme.
MAC TS reserves the right to determine eligibility based on the information and documentation provided.
- (EEIS Compliance) The Customer understands that if the EEIS rebate cannot be claimed by MAC TS due to a previous claim or any documentation provided is inaccurate, you may be required to repay the EEIS rebate and any other administrative costs worn by MAC TS in relation with this claim.
- (Limitation of Liability) To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAC TS is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential losses; or
- Changes to rebate availability arising from scheme or regulatory changes.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- (Authorised Signatory) The Customer confirms they are the authorised signatory of the above entity and will directly benefit from the ongoing end-use services provided by the equipment installed on site.
- (Product Availability) Product brands and models are subject to change at any time without warning and this may impact the EEIS rebate available.
- (Priority Household Customers) The EEIS rebate may be greater for Priority Household customers. You will need to provide proof of your Priority Household status, and it must be valid at the time of application in order to qualify for the increased rebate. If a customer has received a Priority Household rebate but cannot provide evidence of eligibility, they will be subject to receive the lower general household rebate.
- (Payment of Rebate) It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure the correct bank details are supplied. Failure to provide the correct BSB and account number may cause your rebate payment to be delayed or cancelled. Rebate may take up to 60 days from application to be processed and delivered.
- (Exclusion of Liability) MAC TS excludes all liability for any consequences or damages arising out of any false, misleading, or incomplete information provided by the Customer.
- (Data Privacy) The Customer understands that MAC TS will collect information on this form for the purpose of meeting its compliance obligations under the EEIS. You authorise MAC TS to use and disclose information about yourself to its related companies and other organisations that assist it for this and related purposes. MAC TS will collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in accordance with its privacy policy which can be located at https://mactradeservices.com.au/privacy-policy.
- (Auditing – General) This information may be used by the Regulator or other necessary parties for auditing purposes. All ACT EEIS activities are subject to audit and compliance checks by MAC, scheme administrators, or the ACT Government. By participating, customers agree to:
- Cooperate with audit requests; and
- Provide additional information if required.
If an activity is found to be non-compliant, MAC TS may be required to cancel savings or recover the value of the rebate in accordance with scheme requirements.
- (Phone or Site Audit) The Customer understands that they may be required to participate in a physical site audit and/or telephone audit to verify the activity claim at the premises listed above by either MAC TS or the Regulator. Not participating in this call may result in the incentive not being able to be claimed.
- (Dispute Resolution) If the Customer or MAC TS considers that a dispute has arisen in relation to any matter governed by this Offer, that party must give the other party written notice outlining the basis of the dispute. The parties must then meet in an effort to negotiate a resolution of the dispute on terms consistent with the provisions of this Offer. MAC’s Complaint Handling and Dispute Resolution Procedure is located on our website https://mactradeservices.com.au.
- (Governing Law) These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory.
- (Application Submission) By submitting this application, the Customer acknowledges and agrees that it is their sole responsibility to ensure that all the information provided is true, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
- (Changes to Terms and Conditions) These Terms and Conditions may be updated at any time to reflect changes to the ACT EEIS or MAC TS operational requirements. The version in effect at the time the appliance activity is completed will apply.
Definitions
The terms set out below shall have the following meaning when used throughout the above Terms and Conditions:
EEIS means the ACT Energy Efficiency Improvement Scheme.
Appliance means a product eligible under an approved ACT EEIS appliance activity.
Authorised Seller means a retailer approved to participate in the ACT EEIS.
Customer means the individual or business named in the rebate application.
MAC TS means MAC Energy Efficiency Group Pty Ltd t/a MAC Trade Services, ABN 95 612 163 783.
Premises means the residential or business address in the ACT where the appliance is installed or used.
Priority Household means a residential premises in which one person who lives at the premises:
- is a recipient of an ACT Government energy concession;
- holds an Australian Government pensioner concession card or health care card;
- holds a Department of Veterans Affairs pensioner concession card, TPI gold repatriation health care card, war widows repatriation health care card, or gold repatriation health care card;
- holders of a Commonwealth seniors health card;
- holders of an Australian Government low income health care card;
- recipient of an Australian Government disability support pension;
- people accessing an energy retailer’s financial hardship program (however described);
- people referred to a NERL retailer by a referring organisation for access to eligible activities carried out by the retailer;
- people living in a priority dwelling;
- is actively participating in an energy retailer’s payment plan (offered and applied as per section 50 of the National Energy Retail Law (ACT)); or
- has a residential tenancy agreement with the landlord of the premises and the rent for the premises is $660 or less per week (residential premises with partial tenancy are not eligible for Priority Household).
Rebate means the financial benefit applied under an ACT EEIS appliance activity.
Regulator means City and Environment Directorate (CED), responsible for monitoring and determining whether electricity retailers are meeting their obligations under the scheme.
