Why this rebate isn’t available in 2026

The appliance rebate is delivered under the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS), which requires energy retailers to meet targets set by the South Australian Department for Energy and Mining.

In 2026, the overall target has reduced and priority group requirements have increased. This means activity delivery is more limited and focused on meeting those targets. As a result, MAC Trade Services does not currently offer appliance rebates for this activity in 2026.

What is the Appliance rebate?

The Appliance rebate is a cash incentive available when you buy a new, energy-efficient clothes dryer, fridge or freezer and the appliance is delivered to and used at a South Australian address in the current calendar year.

Under the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS), energy-efficient appliances help reduce electricity use and lower running costs, and eligible households and businesses can receive a rebate after their purchase and application are successfully processed.

The rebate amount varies depending on the type and efficiency of the appliance purchased.
