- (PDRS Offer Validity) Applications for Connect to a Virtual Power Plant Rebate must be received and approved within 6 months of the end of the PDRS Compliance Period in which the capacity from an activity was made available (30 September).
- (PDRS Offer Availability) The submission of this application does not guarantee payment or approval. All applications are subject to review and assessment by MAC TS. We reserve the right to accept or decline applications at our discretion.
- (PRCs) All PRCs created under this offer must be assigned to MAC TS as the Accredited Certificate Provider under the PDRS.
- (Accepted VPP’s) VPP connections where a rebate can be claimed are limited to VPPs that have been pre-qualified or accepted by MAC TS for the purpose of participating in PDRS.
- (Product Requirements) To be eligible batteries must meet the product requirements that apply under the PDRS Rule based on the date the battery was onboarded to the Accepted VPP:
- For batteries onboarded to an Accepted VPP before 1 July 2026, the battery must:
- be listed on an approved product list specified by the Scheme Administrator.
- have a usable battery capacity greater than 2 kWh and less than 28 kWh as recorded on the approved product list specified by the Scheme Administrator.
- have a minimum 6 years remaining on the warranty.
- have a warranty that must define the normal use conditions during the operation of the battery as not being less than:
- A minimum ambient temperature range of -10 °C to 50 °C
- A minimum warranted cumulative energy throughput equivalent to 2.8 MWh per kWh of Usable Battery Capacity
- participation in this rebate must not void or diminish the battery warranty below the applicable Equipment Requirements.
- For batteries onboarded to an Accepted VPP on or after 1 July 2026, the battery must:
- Be listed on an approved product list specified by the Scheme Administrator
- Have a useable battery capacity greater than 2kWh and less than or equal to 50kWh
- Have a minimum 6 years remaining on the warranty
- Participation in this rebate must not void or diminish the battery warranty
- Where more than one battery is claimed for the same NMI, the combined usable battery capacity of the batteries will be used to assess the applicable battery size requirement.
- For batteries onboarded to an Accepted VPP before 1 July 2026, the battery must:
- (PDRS Eligibility) This Offer applies to batteries that meet the applicable Product Requirements and the following eligibility requirements:
- The battery was connected to an Accepted VPP in New South Wales
- The battery was connected to an Accepted VPP within the required time frame to meet PDRS Offer Validity and PDRS Compliance Period requirements
- the rebate application was lodged using the date the battery was onboarded to the VPP
- the site is a Residential Site or Small Business Site
- is an existing battery installation or new battery installation
- the VPP connection is to the battery in use at the address on the application
- no Life Support Equipment is being used on site
- you have not claimed a Connect to a Virtual Power Plant Rebate from MAC TS or any other provider for the same NMI
- where the battery was onboarded to an Accepted VPP before 1 July 2026:
- there must be an existing PV solar system installed at the same NMI as the battery
- the customer nomination and consent requirements must have been completed in the form, manner and timeframe required under the PDRS Rule and by the Scheme Administrator
- where the battery was onboarded to an Accepted VPP on or after 1 July 2026:
- an existing PV solar system is not required
- the customer nomination form may be signed up to 90 days after the battery was onboarded to the Accepted VPP, provided it is completed before certificate creation.
- (PDRS Compliance) The Customer understands that if the PDRS certificates cannot be claimed by MAC TS due to a previous claim or any documentation provided is inaccurate, you may be required to repay the PDRS rebate and any other administrative costs incurred by MAC TS in relation with this claim.
- (Single claim only) The rebate can only be claimed once per NMI, regardless of any renewals of a VPP contract. Customers are not eligible for additional rebates for subsequent VPP contracts at the same NMI.
- (Authorised signatory) The Customer confirms they are the authorised signatory of the above entity and will directly benefit from the ongoing end-use services provided by the equipment installed on site.
- (Product Availability) Product brands and models are subject to change at any time without warning and this may impact the PDRS rebate available.
- (Rebate Value) The rebate value is subject to change at any time without prior notice. The final rebate amount will be determined based on the value applicable at the time your application is submitted. For batteries onboarded to an Accepted VPP before 1 July 2026, the rebate is calculated based on the eligible usable battery capacity under the applicable PDRS Rule. For batteries onboarded to an Accepted VPP on or after 1 July 2026, batteries with a useable capacity of up to 50kWh may be eligible, however the rebate will only be calculated on the first 28kWh of usable battery capacity.
- (Payment of Rebate) It is the Customers responsibility to ensure the correct bank details are supplied. Failure to provide the correct BSB and account number may cause your rebate payment to be delayed or cancelled. Rebate may take up to 45 days from the date you receive your VPP Rebate Application approval email to be processed and delivered.
- (Exclusion of Liability) MAC TS excludes all liability for any consequences or damages arising out of any false, misleading, or incomplete information provided by the Customer.
- (Data Privacy) The Customer understands that MAC TS will collect information on this form for the purpose of its compliance, and its nominated retailer’s compliance, with the Electricity Act 1996 and the Gas Act 1997. You authorise MAC TS and the Regulator to use and disclose information about yourself to its related companies and other organisations that assist it for this and related purposes. MAC TS will collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in accordance with its privacy policy which can be located at https://mactradeservices.com.au/privacy-policy
- (Auditing – General) This information may be used by the Regulator or other necessary parties for auditing purposes.
- (Phone Audit) The Customer understands that they may be contacted via phone for the purposes of auditing. Not participating in this call may result in the incentive not being able to be claimed.
- (Site Audit) The Customer understands that they may be required to participate in a physical site audit and/or telephone audit to verify the activity claim at the premises listed above by either MAC Trade Services or the Regulator.
- (Dispute Resolution) If the Customer or MAC TS considers that a dispute has arisen in relation to any matter governed by this Offer, that party must give the other party written notice outlining the basis of the dispute. The parties must then meet in an effort to negotiate a resolution of the dispute on terms consistent with the provisions of this Offer. - (Governing Law) This Contract shall be governed by the laws of New South Wales, and the parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
- (Application Submission) By submitting this application, the Customer acknowledges and agrees that it is their sole responsibility to ensure that all the information provided is true, accurate, and complete to the best of their knowledge.
Definitions
The terms set out below shall have the following meaning when used throughout the above Terms and Conditions:
Accepted VPP means a VPP that has partnered with MAC TS;
Customer means the person named in the application;
Life Support Equipment the following types of equipment have been classified as Life Support equipment:
- Oxygen concentrators
- Intermittent peritoneal dialysis machines
- Kidney dialysis machines
- Continuous positive airways pressure respirators
- Crigler najjar syndrome phototherapy equipment
- Ventilators for life support
- In relation to particular customers – any other equipment that a registered medical practitioner certifies is required for a person residing at the customer’s premises for life support.
MAC TS means MAC Energy Efficiency Group Pty Ltd t/a MAC Trade Services, ABN 95 612 163 783, Unit 2, 134 Fullarton Road, Rose Park SA 5067;
NMI means National Metering Identifier. It is a unique 11-character code assigned to a connection point on the electricity network, used to identify the electricity supply at a specific address. The NMI is issued by the electricity distributor and is used for billing, metering, and participation in electricity market programs, including rebate eligibility;
PDRS means the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme;
PDRS Compliance Period is the 12-month period from 1 April to 31 March;
PRCs means the Peak Reduction Certificates;
Regulator means IPART (Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal) who are the administrator for the PDRS;
Residential Site is a residential building as a building or part of a building classified as a Building Code of Australia (BCA) Class 1, 2 or 4 building, and may include any non-habitable building (BCA class 10a or 10b) on the same site;
Small Business Site is a site that is entirely occupied by a business that is an electricity customer, and that business consumes less than 100MWh of electricity per year;
VPP means Virtual Power Plant.
